[Project Architect with Hillier] Mr. Peterson provided programming, design, construction document, and construction administration services for the Sommerset County Child Development Center. The center serves the employees of six area subsidiary companies of Johnson & Johnson on the campus of Ortho Pharmaceutical. It accommodates 200 children in 23,000 square feet, for a project cost of $3,795,000, and is organized around two central activity spaces with modular group rooms serving various ages, plus special activity/education facilities, food service, health clinic/isolation room, and exterior play areas accessible from the group rooms. Working with RCCM (Resources for Child Care Management), this project was developed as a model for facilities on other Johnson & Johnson campuses. Mr. Peterson presented this project at the annual National Child Care Conference sponsored by RCCM in Boston, which led Hillier to establish a specialization in childcare facility services to companies nationwide.
